The study of artists libraries is justified by the fact that such an inventory, with comments ans annotations, can lead to a better understanding of the pathways of a thought and perhaps an entire body of work. "Tell me what you read and I will tell you who you are". this adage is especially valuable for a more precise approach to the universe of isidore Isou (1925-2007) and Lettrism. One day, perhaps, Isidore Isou's library, which is presented in this book, will be preserved in an institution ans will be a collection in which the research community will be able to continue research on Isidore Isou's books and on Lettrism itself. Waiting for that day, Isidore Isou's Library, a certain look on Lettrism proposes to partially fill this absence.
Le travail sur les bibliothèques d'artistes se justifie par le fait qu'un tel inventaire commenté et annoté, permet de mieux comprendre les cheminements d'une pensé et peut être d'une oeuvre. " Dis-moi ce que tu lis et je te dirai qui tu es". Cet adage est d'autant plus précieux pour tenter d'approcher plus justement l'univers d'Isidore Isou (1925-2007) et du lettrism. Un jour, peut être, la bibliothèque d'Isidore Isou, présentée dans cet ouvrage, rejoindra une institution et constituera un ensemble auquel la communauté des chercheurs pourra poursuivre la recherche sur le travail d'Isidore Isou avec les livres et, également sur le lettrisme lui-même.
